J-O-B

Sean and I are feeling so blessed because we both were able to secure full time jobs over the last couple months. Not only will we be working, but we are fortunate to have both found positions in our respective fields and that is something that we do not take for granted.

Sean will be teaching P.E. and Health at the newly consolidated West Union Valley High School, which is in a small town closer to where he grew up. He will also be the head girls varsity basketball coach which is a really wonderful opportunity for him to continue his coaching tradition while growing into a head coach role. And at this point he is planning to commute from our current place because...

I just accepted a position as an Admissions Counselor at Wartburg College which is just 15 miles away. I am so excited to be joining this college community which has strong values that are in line with mine. At this point, it looks like my recruiting territory will be Minnesota/Wisconsin and I am eager to get on the road in the fall to meet students and their families. A huge perk of this position is that I will be working with my dear friend Tony, who you'll remember traveled with me to New Zealand last year. He has been with this office for a year now and is absolutely smitten with the office and the culture. I think I'm going to like it too :)

Sean and I recognize how very fortunate we are to have positions that we are excited about and are even more aware that job searching can be difficult on relationships. We had many discussions about location, compensation, timing and personal goals, but we feel even stronger after going through this period together. And we both feel really great about what's to come.
