Orientation

Today, I had a fabulous day.
I awoke at 6:30, dug out my purple polo, khakis and nametag, and worked orientation all day!
I love the students, parents, advising, professional staff, tours, answering questions and eating apple fritters.  I could spend everyday working orientation sessions.
(Ok, maybe not everyday. It is very exhausting and sometimes a little stressful, but equally as enjoyable.)
Seriously people, this is where my love for student affairs was enhanced and I was just oozing with passion all day. I had the great opportunity to speak with many of the current student affairs professionals at UNI, subsequently oozing my goals and dreams all over them. Lucky for me, they have just as much passion as I do so they were happy to hear my blabber.
I have a new found sense of confidence. Many of the faculty and staff made sarcastic jokes about how I will have a "hard time" getting in and I was informally welcomed into the program by the Dean of Students. Having my admissions essay complete has really reframed this whole application process.
Words simply cannot express how excited I am for February when I hear back from the admissions office and can start preparing for graduate assistantship interviews.
Clarity is a powerful emotion my friends, and I am overwhelmed with it.
Oh, and this mister in my picture may take over the world. Remember, you saw him here first!
