My Purple Polo

I wanted to start posting some daily pictures of myself, hoping this will suffice for my family who lives in Florida who I only see on breaks. But my mission failed today as I awoke at the crack of dawn to greet new UNI Students for mid-year orientation. As peppy as I may be in the wee hours of the morning, I wasn't about to wake up an extra five minutes early to snap a candid of myself.

The uniform is pretty standard and one most of campus has seen me in many a time. I've got on my comfy khaki pants and my seriously fabulous purple polo. My job at this morning's Orientation was to greet parents and students as they hopped off the shuttles and guide them into their appropriate lines. I sounded much like an airline stewardess- pointing with my two fingers to the various tables, restrooms and stairs.

I have always said that how I dress determines how I feel. And I have to tell you, I feel amazing in my purps and khaks. I feel so empowered and full of pride. I can literally feel the streams of power and an extra pep in my step. Every organization I am in calls for a formal uniform much like this, and I get the same feeling every time. Not to mention, I have a name tag and I drank coffee this morning, which means I was really playing the part.

All because of a purple polo.
