This is my fabulous 3 year old nephew Tanner and, if you can't tell from this picture, he is a little charmer. He has recently started calling me "Best Friend" instead of "Aunt Lou Lou," which he originally named me. Tanner-man is holding a big ol' bubble that we created in the kitchen sink. I've done this activity several times with little kids and it always proves to be an easy, clean way to have a little fun!
So, for all you parents or babysitters out here, if you don't know how to blow bubbles with your hands, here is a tutorial:
Step 1: Get soap and water. (duh!) There is a tricky ratio, so if you are having a hard time, experiment with a little more soap or a little more water.
Step 2: Using your dominant hand, place your thumb flat against your palm and index finger.
Step 3: Drag your thumb up the index finger, forming a circle or the "OK" sign. The should create a film of soap in the center of the circle.
Step 4: Blow the film into a bubble and seal it by closing the circle. By putting some soap and water on your little one's hands, you can pass the bubble to them. They will be truly amazed to hold it, look through it and eventually pop it!
